With trade shows and in person events cancelled for the foreseeable future, figuring out how to best represent your brand via a product shipment is essential. From a PR perspective, here are the top three things we look for to ensure influencers and media will be inspired to share a shipment on social:

Surprise & Delight Design: Make a strong first impression and inspire an unboxing story by investing in a shipment design that will surprise and delight the recipient. You can use the design to share your brand story and personality and make social sharing easy by highlighting your social handles and hashtags.
Sustainability: No one wants to receive a shipment and then feel guilty as packaging fills up their trash can. Make sure your shipment and its contents are as sustainable as possible. Also, be selective when it comes to swag. If you wouldn’t keep and use something yourself, it’s likely to get tossed.
Handwritten Note: Influencers and media get a lot of shipments and just like an email, a product shipment will be so much more effective if it’s personalized. Plus, when was the last time you received a handwritten note? Thoughtfulness is memorable!
